BY ACCESSING OUR SITE OR ENGAGING OUR SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client" or "User") and Red Oak Notary & Fingerprinting Services, LLC, a California limited liability company ("Red Oak," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms govern your access to our website and all notarial, fingerprinting, and ancillary services we provide.

1. Services Provided

Red Oak provides mobile notary public services, NNA-certified loan signing agent services, authorized Live Scan fingerprinting, apostille preparation assistance, hospital and care facility visits, and business and corporate notarizations throughout Southern California, including Riverside County, San Bernardino County, Orange County, and Los Angeles County.

All notarial acts are performed strictly in accordance with the California Government Code, California Civil Code, and the California Notary Public Handbook. Our agents are California-commissioned notaries public and are prohibited from providing legal advice or performing any act that constitutes the unauthorized practice of law under California Business and Professions Code sections 6125 et seq.

2. Appointment Booking and Scheduling

All appointments are subject to agent availability. Submitting a quote request does not guarantee an appointment. An agent will contact you within 24 hours to confirm availability, service details, fees, and scheduling. Red Oak reserves the right to decline any service request at its sole discretion.

Appointments are confirmed only when both parties have mutually agreed upon a date, time, location, scope, and applicable fees. Written confirmations (email, text) supersede verbal agreements in the event of any dispute.

3. Fees, Pricing, and Payment

California notary fees are regulated by state law. The maximum notary fee is $15.00 per notarial act as set forth in California Government Code section 8211. Additional charges that may apply:

  • Travel fees: assessed based on distance from agent's location
  • After-hours fees: for appointments outside of 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Weekend/holiday premiums: for appointments on Saturdays, Sundays, and recognized California holidays
  • Extended signing fees: for loan packages or documents exceeding standard complexity
  • Waiting fees: if the client is not ready at the agreed appointment time, assessed per 15-minute increment
  • Cancellation/rescheduling fees: as set forth in our Refund & Cancellation Policy
  • Live Scan fees: vary based on the submitting agency's AFIS requirements and DOJ/FBI transmission fees

All fees must be paid at the time of service unless a billing arrangement has been established in writing. Accepted payment methods include cash, major credit/debit cards, check, Venmo, and Zelle. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee plus applicable bank charges.

4. Client Obligations

  • Present valid, current, government-issued photo identification acceptable under California Civil Code section 1185
  • All documents must be complete and legible — California notaries are prohibited from notarizing incomplete documents
  • Appear in person before the notary at the time of the notarial act
  • Do not sign documents beforehand — signatures must be executed in the physical presence of the notary
  • Ensure the signer is competent, acting voluntarily, and not under duress
  • Provide accurate location information including security or access requirements
